The third preseason game for the Oakland Raiders and the first-team offense was a success, somewhat. Carson Palmer and company have been able to drive down the field this preseason, but unable to punch it in the end zone. All that matters is the victory at the end, which the Raiders got by defeating the Detroit Lions 31-20.
The Raiders drove down to the Lions 12-yard line on the first drive of the game and could not get into the end zone. To cap it off, Sebastian Janikowski missed a 30-yard field goal wide left.
The Lions countered with a 12-play, 57-yard drive led by Matthew Stafford and it was finished by Jason Hanson. Hanson nailed a 41-yard field goal, which gave the Lions a 3-0 lead with 1:51 left in the first quarter.
Once Detroit took the lead, both teams traded punts. It was on the third series that the Raiders finally punched it in. It was a 12-play, 86-yard drive finished by Darren McFadden with a 1-yard touchdown run. Prior to the touchdown, Lions DT Corey Williams forced McFadden to fumble. The Raiders challenged that McFadden had already broke the plane and the call was reversed. That gave the Raiders a 7-3 lead with 6:39 left in the half.
Lions QB Shaun Hill entered the game midway through the second quarter as Matthew Stafford suffered an injury to his non-throwing hand.
“It was just scary to look down and see your hand swelling up by the second,” Stafford said. “That kind of freaked me out. The skin kind of just grew by the second. I didn’t know what was going on.” Team trainers wrapped Stafford’s hand in heavy bandages and a brace on the sideline and X-rays were negative.
After back to back field goals by the Lions, the Oakland Raiders ended the half with a 56-yard field goal by Eddy Carmona and a 10-6 lead.
The second half was the Terrelle Pryor show.
The Lions opened the second half with 7 yard touchdown pass from Hill to Brandon Pettigrew. Pryor replaced Palmer (17/26, 181 yards) to start the Raiders third quarter. He scrambled for 59 yards and later shook off a sack for a 17-yard touchdown run in his first series in a quick third quarter, which gave the Raiders a 17-13 lead.
The Big Ten product had some chemistry with rookie wideout Juron Criner. The two connected for on two touchdown passes. One was a 39-yard TD pass that Criner had to twist back to haul in the underthrown ball over a defender. The second score was a 76-yard pass in which Pryor threw across his body to Criner running a post pattern across the middle of the field.
Pryor ended the day rushing for 90 yards and a score. He also threw for 137 yards, on five attempts and two scores.
The victory was the first for Raiders Head Coach Dennis Allen – “Any time you get a chance to get a win, you do nothing but grow from that. We talk about creating habits and you’re either creating good habits or bad habits and today we created a good habit. It’s a good habit to get into winning. I talked to guys before about that’s why we play the game and that are what we went out there and tried to do today.”
The Raiders finish the 2012 Preseason next Thursday at Seattle.

Not writing a whole lot today. I’m just going to say that Rock The Bells is this weekend and I’m not attending. I will be in Oakland to watch the Raiders play the Lions during the same time a music is taking place. So today, nothing but music videos from some of the artists that will be performing.
Rock The Bells will be a Music Festival of the Old School and the New School colliding. This collision course should lead to a nice crowd this weekend in Mountain View. Ok, I’m done. Enjoy the some of the videos.
Bone Thugs – N – Harmony
DJ Quik (My favorite)
Naughty By Nature
Nice mixture of the performers. I left out some good ones, that’s how stacked the festival will be. Click Rock The Bells for more information.
Enjoy the weekend!

The best thing about working from 9pm-5am? The co-workers. Times are hard right now for everybody. The States are at a stage in which you have to take whatever job you can get. You have to have some major discipline to work a graveyard shift. Not just regular discipline, mental discipline. You have to be committed, dedicated to the job. You also need to have a open-mind. It’s one thing to go to your “normal” 9-5 and just go with the motions if somebody is having a bad day. In the graveyard world? You have no idea what you are getting yourself into. People have already had problems during the day AND they still haven’t got to work yet. Dealing with surprises EVERY NIGHT has helped me have a open-mind about people.
Normally, my first paragraph sets up the rest of my entry, not this time. Honestly, I just wanted to show love to my graveyard counterparts. It’s really hard to do that. It’s really, REALLY difficult when you have two jobs. You are working around the clock, averaging about four hours of sleep per day. As I think about it, if I only had one job, I probably would average four hours of sleep anyway.
My blog, my rules. My friend told me that I post a lot of alcohol pictures. Forgive me if I enjoy a tasty beverage. Want to know something? I got home a bit early this morning from work and I had a small glass of…
If you really want to get creative, try this with Apple Juice. I tried it before and I couldn’t feel my limbs after a while.
(I may enjoy alcohol a bit too much.)
For the record, that was about 2:30am. It’s called “bar just closed I have booze at my place”on the weekend.
I’m going back a bit, with TWO VIDEOS. Rock The Bells is this weekend and I can’t go unfortunately. My friend is going and I’m jelly (Short for jealous, like it?). The lineup is literally a blast from the past. Should be awesome. Three people I really wanted to see.
Numero one, he (and the special guest) is still going strong….
Nas performing should be pretty good.
The main person I really wanted to see???
DMX is very talented and it’s unfortunate that he is always getting in trouble. Now that I think about it, I hope he makes it this weekend.
Can’t wait to go home and take a nap. I’m more of a nap person.

About me section? Check. Contact information section? Check. Me always being awesome? Always and forever. My page is to my liking and…I…like…it? <—- Not going to lie, that phrase sounded better in my head.
It’s Hump Day! Who came up with that nickname? I don’t know how I feel calling it by that name/nickname. All my life, Wednesday has been THE name. I can’t just go around saying “It’s Hump Day”, the majority of my friends have sick minds so that’s trouble.
Anyway, it’s Hump Day. I’m in the mood for some…
Whenever I drink this, I think of my good friend Sarah. If it wasn’t for her, I would not have known about this greatness.
Random thought: A few moments ago I met somebody who I follow on Twitter. If we were living in Southern California, I doubt the encounter would’ve happen. Northern California = a small community. Since I’m on the subject of Twitter, follow me – GO DEEP IN MY MIND.
My mind? I don’t know what is wrong with it. I have to get ready for my session, my freestyle session. I’ve been challenged by my friend. He is way better than I am. I have my moments though, especially if I freestyle about nursery rhymes. YES, you read that right, nursery rhymes! You want to know how horrible I am? Take a look at this, Allison Brie from Community.
Yup, I’m worse than her.
Happy Hump Day!

Time to switch things up. Yesterday I went emotional (I’m sorry) and I promise it won’t happen again (or will it?).
Let’s begin shall we? Has a random question ever popped in your head? Literally, the first thing in the morning? If you said no, you’re lying.
This was the question that popped in my head this morning…
*40 Sec mark is your goal, but watch the whole thing*
Weird, I know. It’s true though, I haven’t heard from Ja Rule in a long time.
!*!* IT’S THE WEEKEND *!*!*
Who is doing what this weekend? I haven’t checked the weather, but I’m pretty sure it won’t be nice here in the 916. A trip to the Bay Area might be in the works. If you have been reading my posts, you are probably assuming Berkeley or San Francisco. HA!, WRONG, fooled you. Santa Cruz might be in order if everything goes according to plan.
Plans, PLANS and PLANS! Everything in life needs a Plan and a “Plan B’. In this case, I really hope my “Plan B” gets action. I don’t mind trips to the Ocean, but I DO mind paying for gas. Gas is becoming a hassle again. I swear it was $2.50 yesterday…Yeah, I wish we were back in the good ol’ days for that reason alone.
OK, sorry, mind was wandering – PLAN B!
Is the suspense killing you? Ok, it’s nothing major (except for fans). Wait for it…. And it is….
Yup, a Community marathon. Season Three came out earlier this week! I still find it sad that people don’t have love for Community. Unfortunately, smart shows rarely get love.
Changing subjects before I rant, yet again.
Breakdown so far:
Clip of the week: Dave Chappelle
Show of the week: Community
Food of the week: Old-School, Oreo’s
Song of the day………
Andre 3000, always doing his thing. Very talented person, he is going to playing Jimi Hendrix in a biopic. I still don’t know all the details in regards of the movie. I didn’t forget about B.o.B, he is still doing his thing – under the radar.

Enjoy the weekend my fellow humans!

You know what happens everyday? Losing people. It happens in a variety of ways: death, moving, break-up, etc. In this case, I’m losing a co-worker. JW, no need for the whole name, has decided it was time to move on to the next chapter in his life. We all have been in that situation, even if we didn’t want to (unfortunately it’s mandatory). I believe we all have at least one person that can help steer us in the right direction (that isn’t a family member). We have a person that we can talk to in the time of need (also not a family member). This is the second time in the past two years, maybe three, that I’ve gotten the short end of the stick. Despite my emotional issues on the subject, I know that they are happy (I know my former boss lady(ESP) is).
………Again with the initials!!!! I’m just protecting them, it’s called respect……
JW: showed me the ropes of the manual labor in the Promo world. I was HIS outlet when he had to vent. He helped me out when I was in need. He was my opposite. You know the good and evil conscience that’s on your shoulder? He was the good one, by far!
ESP: THE person that hired me in the media world. She also let me vent to her when I was going through a rough patch. Time and time again she checks up on me as I search for that elusive full-time job.
Both people are class-acts, helped me out when it wasn’t in the job description. I lost co-workers, but kept friends.
Life will go on and they will always be here, I just have to keep reminding myself.
This is the part where I’m suppose to serenade you with pictures of them, but
I’m not, won’t. Who knows, maybe in the future.
My current mood?
I can never get tired of Anchorman.
This video is about a few years back. Me posting this defeats the purpose of this “Throwback Thursday” post. At the end of the day though, rules are made to be broken.
Somehow, someway I’m getting to that point this weekend haha.

Can you believe it? It is only Thursday. This week is going by
slow, nope, “at a snail’s pace” sounds better. It didn’t help that I had yesterday AND Monday off. Monday was already scheduled, it’s my usual thing to do (I work crazy hours).
Yesterday, I went to Oakland (notice the Bay Area theme as of late?) to watch my Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (still hate the name) take on the Oakland A’s. I don’t know why, but, my Angels just can’t win (lost 9-8) in Oakland. It’s the House of Horrors for them. For the record, I
hate… DISLIKE A’s fans!!!. They are so horrible, but these are the same people I hang out with on Sunday’s during the Fall to watch the Raiders play. I don’t know what to think anymore.
I’m going to mix it up a bit, take it WWWWAAAAYYYYYY BACK!!!
Want a throwback drink?
When was the last time you had this? I never had it, way before my time. I do know people who have had it before. I expect them to text me, telling me about the good ol’ days!
And now, the video. This post has a Bay Area feel (I’m sorry, I’ll try to cut it down), so how about some Bay Area natives?
Stay thirsty my friends, it’s Thursday.

P.S: Shout out to the new partner in crime, The Red Head. Check out her blog, it’s a good read.

A friend of mind pointed out that “Stephone” had the same background theme, color, font – EVERYTHING!!
Not cool I tell you, not cool. People are always trying to hate. Now I’m trying to find a good layout for my new and improved webpage. Any suggestions? The one that is currently on is not me….by a longshot.
I’m vexed… I really liked that layout. I feel violated. I’m angry, I can’t write, so this video will do the talking. It never gets old (to me). You may know him courtesy of Tosh. O….
I introduce to you, Bubb Rubb:
P.S. Much love to the readers from New Zealand, Great Britain and the United Arab Emirates. Much appreciated.

“A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future, and accepts you just the way you are.” – Unknown
We all are going through situations, through that time we need our friends more than ever. Our past creeps up, we are worried about today and tomorrow. Just enough obstacles go that we endure that makes us C-R-A-Z-Y. A real friend understands everything.
Just wanted to get serious for once.

The title speaks for itself. What I try to do is “Throwback” to MY generation. Almost every song was a good song back then (1990-2002(ish)). Artists were never really heard of (Craig Mack < Biggie Smalls) because they couldn’t stand out. Lastly you get the one hit wonder. The one hit wonder that had a funny song, if anything (I thought it was funny).
Ladies and Gentlemen, your wonderful video:
When was the last time you heard this song? How about seen the video?
Did you spot the cameo appearance? I forgot all about that guy lol.
Until we meet again folks~!~!
